Mrs. Alice M. Hill, 86, passed away Tuesday night, Jan. 14th, at the Old People's Home of here. She had not been residing in the Home very long and she is the first resident of the Home to pass away. Funeral services were held at the Hopkington Methodist church Friday afternoon and the burial was also at Hopkington.

Alice Maria, daughter of Nathan and Mary L. Pitcher Talmadge, was born in Delhi Twps, Delaware County, Oct 4, 1855. On May 2, 1886, she was married at Delhi to the late Francis E. Hill, and immediately after their marriage they went to Nebraska where they engaged in farming until Mr. Hill's death in 1900. Mrs. Hill then returned to Manchester, Iowa, and lived there until her retirement at the Strawberry Point Home a few weeks ago. She is survived by a brother, N.O. Talmadge of Hopkington, and by several nieces and nephews.
