Obituary
At three o'clock, Wednesday afternoon, August 15, 1894, occurred the death of Horace E. Lyman, an old resident of Delaware county. Mr. Lyman was born at Waybridge, Vermont, in March 1823. He moved to Orangeville, New York, in 1840, and in June 1849, was married to Phoebe Lawrence, of Warasaw, New York, who died in 1862.
Mr. Lyman moved with his family to Delaware county in November 1865, and lived on a farm near Barryville, until four or five years ago, when he moved to North Manchester, where he resided until the time of his death.
His brother, Chester W. Lyman of Sand Creek; and two sisters, Martha and Sarah Lyman of Manchester; and four children, Herman and Ward Lyman, Osceola County IA, Burt Lyman of Gentry county, Missouri, and Phoebe Lyman of this city; survive him.
Mr. Lyman was a man of undoubted integrity, a good citizen, a kind and wise parent and a valued and trusted friend and neighbor.
