Memorial service for Maxene Louise Freeman, 85, was Tuesday in the Atrium at Rockwood Manor. Private inurnment was at Pines Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
A longtime Spokane resident, Miss Freeman died April 11. She was born in Dyersville, Iowa.
During World War II she worked as an assistant field director for the American Red Cross out of Boston.
She was a social worker for the Department of Social and Health Service for 50 years.
Miss Freeman was a member of the Catholic Business and Professional Women and the Rockwood Manor Auxiliary. She was past president of the Immaculate Heart Retreat House Auxiliary.
Survivors include two nieces, Celia Bauer of Spokane and Shelly Atkinson of Sitka, Alaska.
