John Currie of Ryegate, Montana, died on Thursday, January 2, 1936 according to word received by his sister, Mrs. S. G. Walker. His death resulted from complications following surgery. He spent sometime here following the funeral of his mother, and had returned to his home in Montana only a month ago. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Irma D. Wiltse of Venice, CA. and Mrs. Alba Walker of here. One niece, Mrs. Thelma Anderson of Venice, CA. and a nephew, Robert Walter of Colesburg. The funeral was held at Ryegate, and later at the Walker home here, with burial at Oak Hill cemetery. Fred Peck and Robert Walker boarded a fast train in East Dubuque, Illinois to attend the funeral services in Ryegate. They were taken to Illinois by Ed Gorkow.
