December 28, 1932A large crowd of clergy attended the funeral of Mrs. Ellen McDonough, mother of the Rev. L. F. McDonough, which was held from the family residence to St. Patrick's church, Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock.
Officers of the solemn mass of requiem were: Father McDonough, celebrant, the Right Rev. Monsignor J. J. Hanley, deacon, and the Rev. Dorrance Foley, master of ceremonies. The Right Rev. Monsignor A. Boeding, the Right Rev. Monsignor Thomas Conry, the Right Rev. Monsignor J. M. Wolfe, the Rev. F. J. Phelan, the Rev. Peter O'Malley, the Rev. J. J. Zeyen, the Rev. Anthony Sigwarth, the Rev. B. W. Frommelt, the Rev. G. A. Mahoney, the Rev. J. E. Dunn, the Rev., J. I. Patnode, the Rev. R. P. Duggan, the Rev. F. J. Kaufmann, the Rev. M. J. Martin, the Rev. Joseph Forst, the Rev. J. R. Goodman, the Rev. Victor Hintgen, the Rev. D. J. Neenan, the Rev. John R. Bowman, the Rev. A. R. Thier, the Rev. J. J. Klott, the Rev. J. I.. Breitbach, and the Rev. F. A. Mallin, all of Dubuque, were among the attending clergy.
Out of town clergy, included the Rev. Dorrance Noonan, Marion, IA, the Rev. B. J. Beehan, Cedar Rapids, IA, the Rev. James D. Kearn, Fairfax, IA, the Rev. John L. Leen, Fillmore, the Rev. W. T. Donahue, Independence, IA, the Rev. Robert Ormsby, Preston, IA, and the Rev. Walter Cul??lnan, Delmar, IA.
Pallbearers were M. J. Connally, Glyden McMeel, John Needham, Donald York, Clarence Schuster and Jim Mulvehill, Jr.
Burial was made in the Sacred Heart cemetery in Monticello, IA. Prayers at the graveside were said by Father McDonough.
