12 May 1937Lamont News.- These relatives and friends from out of town attended the funeral of Mrs. Dora Arbegust Friday afternoon: Mrs. Herman Scharff and daughter Opal,Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Riche of Oelwein; Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Tickner, Mrs. Leslie Clubine, Independence; Mr. and Mrs. Al Brown and son and Mrs. Quimby, Cedar Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Coonrod of Dundee; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Arbegust of Worthington, Minnesota and Mr. and Mrs. L. Arbegust of Dundee.
Ladora daughter of Israel and Lydia Wing, was born Nov. 21, 1865 near Earlville, where the family then resided. When three years of age she moved with her parents to the Wing farm, three miles east of Lamont, where she grew to young womanhood. She departed this life May 5th, 1937 at the age 71 years, 5 months and 15 days. On February 11, 1885 she was united in marriage with Dayton M. Arbegust, who preceded her in death April 2nd., 1923.To this union two children were born; Loren D. of Manchester and Earl W. of Worthington, Minn. Besides her two sons she is also survived by four grand-children, a brother, E. A. Wing, of Lamont, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Kyle of Cameron Wisconsin.
Mrs. Arbegust until later years always took an active part in work. She was baptized May 19th., 1901 and united with the Free Will Baptist Church in which church she held membership in Lamont until it's dissolution. She had always been a good neighbor and kind friend.
Funeral services were held from the Methodist church at Lamont Friday at 2o'clock conducted by Rev. F. H. Schepple.
