Loren D. Arbegust, 77, lifelong resident of Delaware County, and retired farmer of the Manchester community living five miles northwest of Manchester in the Coffins Grove area, passed away Thursday evening at Delaware County Memorial Hospital following a long illness.
Funeral services for Mr. Arbegust were held at the Shelly funeral home Saturday at 1:30 P.M. with the Rev. Clare Biegler officiating. Burial was made in Oakland Cemetery.
Loren Dayton Arbegust, son of Dayton and Dora (Wing) Arbegust was born June 6, 1888, on the parental farm near Lamont in Buchanan County. He grew to young manhood on the farm and received his education in rural and Lamont schools. Following his schooling, he engaged in farm work in the Lamont area.
He was united in marriage with Mary Etta Coonrod in June 16, 1915 at Manchester. They farmed in the Lamont community and then moved to a farm in Delaware county the rest of their lives together until his passing.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary E. Arbegust of Route 3, Manchester, two sons, Bryce L. Arbegust of Redondo Beach, California, who was unable to attend services for his father because of recent serious heart surgery, and Donald M. Arbegust of Hill point, Wisconsin, and seven grand children. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother in 1952.
