DAVID RALPH HERROLD, born July 25th, l884, at Grimes, Iowa, died at Macon, Mo., Dec. l7th, l920, aged 36 years, 4 months and 22 days. He was united in marriage to NELLIE STELLA BRUCE, March l4th, l906. To this union were born four children, two of whom died in infancy.

His father, a veteran of the Civil War, preceded him only a month. He leaves a wife, two little sons, VIRGIL and SUMMERFIELD, a mother, three sisters, five brothers, and a host of neighbors and friends to mourn his loss.

He was converted and united with the Church of Christ at Herrold, Iowa, in l902, at seventeen years of age and has been an active, earnest Christian up to the time of his death, holding his membership in the Christian Church at Van Wert, Iowa.

The funeral service was held at Des Moines on Dec. 20, l920, with interment near Grimes. Young manhood friends acted as pall bearers. Rev. Weyrauch, former Pastor at Fairview, conducted the services.

Six years ago he purchased a farm in Decatur County near Fairview and moved thereon, in which neighborhood he has resided ever since. To the bereaved wife, sons, and other near relatives are extended the heartfelt sympathy of the community, who had learned to respect him for his conscientious, Christian life and from which circle he will be so sadly missed.
