RHODA J. NIXON, daughter of JAMES and ELIZABETH NIXON, was born in Calhoun County, Ill., Sept. llth, l848. She moved with her parents when quite young to Wisconsin, later to Iowa, where she was married to O.E. STILES, Nov. 8, l869. She then went to California where they resided for five years, then returning to a farm near Garden Grove where they resided until l905, when they moved to Garden Grove.
They remained there until the death of MR. STILES, April 8, l9l8. Since then she has made her home with her daughter, MRS. DAISY ROSENGRANT, on the old home farm where they first lived on returning from California, where she passed to rest on Dec. 2lst, l920, aged 72 years, 3 months and l0 days.

She leaves two children, MRS. DAISY ROSENGRANT, and son, BERT STILES, and three grandchildren to mourn her death. Her son, HARRY, died when fifteen years old. She was a member of the St. John Church of Garden Grove. She wanted always to do right and her last thoughts were of her children.

Funeral services were held Thursday with a short prayer at the house by Brother Jones and services at the Episcopal Church at two o'clock by Rev. Wyckoff.
Interment was in the Garden Grove Cemetery.
