Decatur County Journal
Thursday, April 6, l9l6

MARY ANN REDENBOUGH was born in Jefferson County, Indiana, September 30, l826. She moved with her parents at an early age to Ladoga, Indiana and here she spent her girlhood days, grew to womanhood and was married to MASON FOXWORTHY, on February l9, l845. During the fall of l854, they decided to move west and settled in Mercer County, Mo. After seven years they moved to Pleasanton, Iowa, where they stayed ten years then they moved to Lineville which has been their home for forty-five years.

MR. FOXWORTHY answered his call and passed into the life beyond fourteen years ago, but many remember him as he worked in his shop opposite the south M.E. Church as Lineville's wagon builder.

To cheer their home, nine children were given them. They are: MARY FRANCIS, who resides at Pleasanton, Iowa, and who was unable to attend the services as she is seeking for health in the south; JANE, AMANDA, OLIVER, who is a practicing physician at Leon, Iowa; VICTOR E., who is a merchant at Winston, Mo.; MARGARET, from Kellerton; WILLIAM W., ROSE and NELLIE, who is MRS. JORDAN, of Lineville; JANE, WILLIAM, ROSE and AMANDA, having passed before to the better land.

In early life she was converted and consecrated her life to the building up of the Redeemer's Kingdom in the Baptist Church. She has for about thirty years, enjoyed the privileges of membership in the Lineville M.E. Church of which she has been a faithful and consistent member.

During the last years of her life, she has been confined to her home with the feebleness that comes with age, and her many friends were sorry to learn that during the icy time in the winter, she fell and sustained injuries which confined her to her bed. She bore all with true Christian patience and fortitude, was always cheerful and was a constant surprise to the many friends who visited her in the wonderful manner in which she retained her conversational power. A few days ago it became apparent that she was gradually sinking and her children gathered about her as she passed peacefully away on March 25, l9l6, at the age of 89 years, 5 months and 26 days.

The funeral services were held in the M.E. Church at l0:00 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Pastor. Many friends and neighbors were in attendance. The interment was made in the Lineville Cemetery.
