Decatur County Journal
Thursday, September 30, l9l6

CARRIE, daughter of WILLIAM and RACHEL CAMP, was born in Wayne County, Iowa, November l, l855 and departed this life, March 2l, l9l6, at the age of 60 years, 4 months and 20 days.

She was united in marriage to GILES B. CONNER, June l, l880, in Kansas. To this union five children were born, namely, GUY W., of Leon, Iowa; MRS. GRACE KIMER and RAY, both of Colorado; MRS. BESSIE BOOKLESS, of Hutchinson, Kansas, and ETHEL, who died in infancy. In l9ll she was married to JAMES DE GRAW. Later she moved with her son, GUY, to Iowa, where the greater part of her young womanhood had been spent, having been at one time engaged in the teaching profession in Decatur and Wayne Counties.

MRS. CONNER was converted in her teens, after which she identified herself with the Methodist Episcopal Church. Like her Master, she was not here to be ministered unto, but to minister. The church and Sunday School lose in her a faithful worker.

She leaves besides her four children, and aged mother, five sisters, two brothers and many other relatives and friends to mourn her departure. The funeral services were conducted from the home of her son, GUY, in this city last Thursday morning at l0 o'clock. Rev. Moser, of the local Methodist Church, conducting the same. The tired body of MRS. CONNER was laid to rest in the Leon Cemetery where it awaits the resurrection of the just.
