Thursday, August 24, l9l6MRS. M.E. MARTINDALE was found dead in her home last Sunday shortly before noon, her condition being discovered by her daughter, MRS. SAM ADAIR, who had gone to the home of her mother to ask her to come and have dinner with them.
MRS. MARTINDALE spent the previous night at the home of her daughter, going home about 8 o'clock. Later in the morning, MRS. ADAIR's little daughter, MARGARET, went to the home of her grandmother and found her lying on a davenport. She reported to her mother that her grandmother was asleep. Nothing was thought of the matter and about ll:45 o'clock MRS. ADAIR went to the home of her mother to ask her to come and have dinner with them and discovered that her mother was dead. A physician was quickly summoned but he found that she had been dead for four or five hours. It is believed that when reaching home at 8 o'clock she had laid down and that death, as the result of heart failure, had come within a very short time.
MRS. MARTINDALE was 62 years of age and she leaves six children living. They are ART MARTINDALE, MRS. CARRIE BRIGHT, MRS. BESSIE ADAIR, MRS. KATE ADAIR, MRS. ELLA ADAIR, MRS. CORA PARSONS, all of this vicinity. ORVILLE passed away near fifteen years ago at the age of twenty months. The funeral services were held at the Brethren Church Monday. The sorrowing family have the deep sympathy of our people.
