MARY KATHRYN FORD was born in Lacon, Illinois, on July 24, l867. At the age of thirteen she united with the Congregational Church. She united with the Methodist Church in l9l5. She attended school until she graduated from high school in l885. She was tendered the position of instructor of the school from which she graduated, which position she held for four years, or until she resigned to be married to ARTHUR HOOVER on September 11, l888. She was 48 years, 11 months and 6 days old at the time of her death.

Their home was blessed with two children, GENE, FORD and HELEN ARTHUR. The family came to Clarke County, Iowa, in l889, where they resided until GENE's death, November 8, l908. After this they moved to Weldon where they have since resided. She died July lst, l9l6. Those left to mourn her death are her mother, MRS. KATHRYN FORD, her sister, MRS. ELLA TAYLOR, of Illinois, her husband, her daughter, MRS. HELEN POWERS and their son, ROBERT EUGENE POWERS. She was a good wife, a good mother and a good neighbor. To know her was to love her. Her constant wish was for the comfort of others. Her trust in God was complete. A host of friends are sympathizing with the family.

Funeral services were held at the home Monday morning at l0 o'clock, conducted by her Pastor, Rev. Laird, assisted by Rev. Mitchell and Rev. Barr. MRS. HOOVER was a charter member of the Mothers Club and Mrs. T.B. Jamison read a sketch in regard to her work in the club. Following the service, the remains were taken to Garden Grove for burial beside the son.
