Decatur County Journal
Thursday, April 20, l9l6

DANIEL WILBUR HAGAN, son of MR. and MRS. ORA
HAGAN, of Pleasanton, Iowa,
was born February 9th, l9ll, and died April
8th, l9l6, aged 5 years l
month and 29 days.

WILBUR was taken ill Wednesday evening with
that dreaded disease
membraneous croup. All was done that loving
hands could do but of no
avail. The little life was too sweet for
this world, so God called him
home Saturday evening at about six o'clock.

Besides his grief-stricken parents, he leaves
a brother, a sister and a
host of relatives and friends to mourn his
sad departure. To know him
was to love him.

WILBUR will be greatly missed at Sunday
School as he was junior
librarian and a regular attendant. At school
his little seat will be
vacant. He was a favorite among his little
playmates. His little body
was laid to rest in the Hamilton Cemetery on
Sunday afternoon.

We miss thee from our
home, WILBUR,

We miss thee from thy
place,

A shadow o'er our life
is cast;

We miss the sunshine of
thy face,

We miss thy kind and
loving hand.

Thy fond and earnest care,

Our home is dark without
thee;

We miss thee everywhere,

A precious one from us
has gone;

A voice we loved is
stilled.

A place is vacant in the
home,

That never can be filled.

CARD OF THANKS.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our
friends, who so kindly aided us
during the sickness and death of our darling
boy. We also desire to
express our grateful thanks to Dr. Eiker, who
labored so faithfully for
our dear one's life during his last few hours
on earth.

MR. AND MRS. ORA HAGAN AND
CHILDREN.
