Decatur County Journal
Thursday, January 20, l9l6

IOWA BELLAMY-STANLEY, daughter of JOSHUA and
ETHELINDA BELLAMY, was born
at Muscatine, Iowa, March 2, l855, and died
at the home of her daughter,
BLANCHE, Coon Rapids, Iowa, January ll, l9l6,
aged 60 years, 8 months
and 29 days. She had been visiting with her
daughter and the husband
had returned home but was called back
immediately upon his arrival at
home by the death of his wife. It is thought
that death was due to a
stroke of apoplexy.

She was united in marriage to J.H. STANLEY,
July 2l, l875. To this
union seven children were born, two of whom
preceded the mother in
death. She leaves to mourn her absence her
husband, one brother, five
sisters, and five children, a host of friends
and neighbors. The
surviving children are MRS. FRED SMITH,
Pleasanton, Iowa; MRS. T.E.
WEST, Coon Rapids, Iowa; MRS. T.J. PENNISTEN,
Maryville, Mo.; HARRY
STANLEY, Keystone, Oklahoma; HERBERT STANLEY,
Kellerton, Iowa.

MRS. STANLEY was a member of the Christian
Church and held membership at
Leon, Iowa, where she had made her home for
the past ten years. Short
services were held at the home of her
daughter, MRS. WEST, at Coon
Rapids, before leaving for Leon. MRS.
STANLEY was a woman loved in her
community. She was always active in genuine
Christian service.
We shall miss her for these genuine values of
life.

The funeral services were conducted from the
Christian Church at l0:30
a.m., Friday, January l4, l9l6, by the
Pastor, Henry Esch.
