ESTHER PALMER DIES in CHARITON
Esther PALMER, 84, of Osceola died at the Lucas County Hospital in Chariton Wednesday, November 21, 1984. Final rites were held Saturday, November 24 from the Assembly of God Church in Osceola with Pastor Jim POLLARD and the Rev. Merrill MOOBERRY officiating at the 1:30 p.m. services. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery, Osceola.
Esther PALMER was born May 24, 1900 in Decatur County, Iowa, daughter of George FOLAND and Celeste LITTLE FOLAND. She attended schools in Decatur County and on February 23, 1919 was married to Ralph PALMER in Grand River. Three children were born to this union. Ralph and Esther lived and farmed in Clarke County until Ralph’s death. Esther accepted Christ as her Savior early in life and lived faithfully for her Lord until death. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Esther will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Survivors include a son, Cleo PALMER and wife Glida of Chariton; son Carl L. PALMER and wife Bette of Port Byron, Illinois; son Cecil Dean PALMER and wife Marilyn of Stockton, Kansas; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother Nolan FOLAND of Osceola; brother Albert FOLAND of Grand River; and sister Thelma SIMBRO of Huntington Beach, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ralph in 1978; and one brother in infancy. [NOTE: Van was seven-years-old at the time of his death.]
