Thomas D. YOUNG, son of Jacob and Mary Jane YOUNG, was born in Ringgold County, July 18, 1861, and died July 15, 1903, at his home in Grand River [Decatur County], Iowa. He was married to Miss Ida B. FOGLEMAN Feb. 27, 1887. To them were born six children, four of whom are living and two have passed on before. He leaves a wife and the four children behind. Shortly before his death, he professed to have faith in Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. The funeral services were held at the Baptist Church and conducted by Rev. E. E. HUNT, Pastor of the M.E. Church of Grand River. A large number of friends and relatives followed his remains to the Young Cemetery [east of Grand River] where his body was laid to rest.
