THOMAS PACE was born in Albemarle County, Va., Oct. 6, l8l0, and died at
his home five miles south of Winterset, Ia., aged 9l years, 4 months and
l4 days. His death was due to the infirmities of old age. He is
survived by his three children, WM. and GEO. PACE and MRS. ELIZABETH
WARD. He married MISS NANCY MCILVAINE in l830. She died in l879 in
Madison County. The deceased conducted a flouring mill in south Leon in
l857 and afterwards in Garden Grove. He possessed a good intellect and
a remarkable memory. W.S. CHANDLER and WM. MOORE, of Leon, are his
nephews. His grandson, ED PACE attended the funeral.
