I know I said I would be transcribing from
the old scrapbook, but I found these in an
envelope stuck inside, they are considerably
later as you can see so I will start with
them.

Obituary--W.S. Anders

William Stanley Anderson, son of Mr. and
Mrs. William D. Anderson was born in Gilford
County, North Carolina, February 17, 1849,
and died at his home near Mount Ayr, Iowa
October 26, 1922, aged seventy-three years,
eight months and nine days.

At the age of two years he moved with his
parents to Henry County, Indiana. When he
was eleven years of age his parents came to
Decatur County where he grew to manhood. He
was married December 4, 1870, to Miss Ellen
Frazier of near Leon, Iowa. To this union
were born three sons: Charles C. of Sandusky,
Ohio, Edward I. who departed this life June
1, 1915, and Jesse M. of Mount Ayr, Iowa.

In 1875 he moved with his family to Reno
county, Kansas, where they lived until the
year 1880 when he returned to Decatur county
and in 1881 he came with his family to
Ringgold county where he has since resided.

There remain to mourn his loss besides
his wife and twosons, one sister, Mr. J. P.
Dunn of Abbyville, Kansas, five grandchildren
and a host of other relatives and friends.

At the age of twenty-two he was converted
and united with the M.E. church and remained
a faithful member until his death. He was
one of the charter members of the Eureka M.
E. church, having contributed largely toward
its building and support.

In his going the family has suffered the
loss of a kind husband and a loving father.
The community has lost one of its most
honored and respected citizens.

The funeral services were held at the
Mount Ayr Methodist Church Sunday October 29,
by Rev. Jay Kirkendall, assisted by Rev. F.
M. Ullery. Interment was made at the Rose
Hill Cemetery.
