Rollo Awold Larsen was born on September 13, 1928 at home in Farmingdale, SD. Rollo was the 2nd out of 10 children born to Alvin and Carrie Larsen.

While serving in the Military, Rollo met the love of his life, Katharina Knappe. They were married in Lampertheim, Germany on July 5, 1952. Rollo and Katharina returned to Farmingdale, SD, where they started their lives together and welcomed two sons: Carl and Mike Larsen.

Rollo worked as a cowboy for the Dustman Ranch for 9 years until he settled on the Larsen Family Ranch. He then worked construction for a couple of years before starting his 37 year employment with Roush Moving and Storage as Warehouse Manager. Rollo retired at the age of 70 only to return to work 7 more years as a driver of fuel transport for M.G. Oil Company.

Rollo is remembered for his strong moral values and the undeniable love for his family.

Rollo died on October 28, 2014, Pennington County, South Dakota.

Rollo is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 60 years, Katharina; his youngest son, Mike; and five siblings, Verlen Larsen, Willard Larsen, Wilma Winston, DeElda Kursave, and William Larsen. He will be greatly missed by his son, eight grandchildren: 13 great-grandchildren and four siblings.

Memorial services will be held at 10am on Saturday, Nov 1st at Kirk Funeral Home, with Pastor Timothy Berg officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in the family Larsen Cemetery in Farmingdale, South Dakota.
