SUSAN HARRIETT WILLIAMS, only daughter of MR.
and MRS. THOMAS WILLIAMS,
was born at Decatur City, Iowa, November 23,
l908, and died June l9,
l9l5, age six years, six months and
twenty-six days.

Her father, mother and one little brother,
with a number of relatives
are left behind to mourn her untimely death.
Death, who knocks at every
door, has again been busy in our community at
its appointed work. Yet,
after all, it may be best, for every life, no
matter if its every hour
be affluent with love, and every moment be
jeweled with joy, sooner or
later must pass to silence.

On last Thursday afternoon while little SUSAN
was playing and enjoying
herself with little friends at home and when
the world to her seemed
only a paradise, and with every promise of a
bright and happy life
before her, she met with one of those
unfortunate accidents which
subsequently caused her death. It did not
seem possible that so much
apparent vitality could be exhausted in so
short a time and it is the
harder to realize it to be true because no
one wants to believe it.

SUSAN was an exceptionally bright and
intelligent little girl and her
sudden death was a terrible shock, not only
to her parents, but to the
entire community. She was loved by all who
had her acquaintance and she
numbered her friends by all who knew her.
She was not only interested
in her work at school but was very fond of
Sunday School and her Sunday
School teacher and you could always count on
her presence. But, after
all, with all our grief and sadness, we
cannot lose sight of that
blessed promise, "At evening time there shall
be light. Sometime,
sometime, we'll understand."
