NANCY REDDEN FILICAL was born in Oakland,
Illinois, August 3rd, l835,
and died at her home in Leon, Iowa, March
l7th, l9l5, aged 79 years.
She was a resident of Oakland, Illinois, for
l0 years, and of Leon,
Iowa, for the past 22 years. She was united
in marriage to CHRISTOPHER
FILICAL February 8th, l856. To this union
four children were born: IDA,
CYRUS, CLARENCE and WILLIAM; only the last
named being still alive, the
others having died before reaching maturity.
The husband passed away
twenty-one years ago. The surviving
relatives are: WILLIAM, her son,
who has for more than a year devoted himself
exclusively to caring for
her, and has done all that any son could for
his mother; and a sister,
MRS. MARY VALIDON, of Oakland, Illinois,
whose daughter was in
attendance at the funeral service.

When a girl MRS. FILICAL became a Christian
and united with the church.
She has always taken an active interest in
the work of the church, and
was a consistent member of the Leon Methodist
Episcopal Church at the
time of her death.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Guy
J. Fansher, at the Leon
Methodist Church on Friday afternoon, March
l9th, at 2:30 o'clock. A
quartet from the church choir sang.
Interment was made in the Leon
Cemetery. The sympathy of friends and
neighbors is extended to the
bereaved ones.
