Young Man Drowned at Kellerton.

A sad accident resulting in the death of Thomas Scott, a young man twenty-one years of age, occurred at Kellerton Monday afternoon. In company with several young men and boys, Scott was swimming in Green's pond, and although he was considered a good swimmer, he was in poor health, having heart trouble, and all at once he cried out for help. Before any one could reach him he had sank in fifteen feet of water.

The alarm was at once sent to town and many people hurried to the pond in hope of being of some help. Mr. W. W. Lemmax, who is visiting relatives in Leon, was among the number and he dived repeatedly in the hope of finding the body, but it was three or four hours after the accident occurred before the body was recovered, a sulky rake finally being drawn through the pond and at the first draw his body was picked up.
