Obituary ~ Lloyd "Kirk" Hampton
October 30, 1962 ~ January 15, 2012

Lloyd Kirk Hampton was born at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon, Iowa, on October 3rd, 1962 and passed from this life into eternal peace on January 15th, 2012 at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon, Iowa. His parents are Guy Thomas Hampton and Frances May (Snodgrass) Hampton Morey.

Kirk graduated from Central Decatur High School in Leon in 1981 and attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri for one year. Kirk was always very active. He loved playing football in high school and spending time with his friends. He was a member of 4-H and FFA. In later years, he enjoyed spending his free time relaxing while fishing. He had recently tried his hand at woodworking and was really enjoying it.

Kirk truly loved his parents, children, grandchildren, and siblings and enjoyed spending time with them Kirk married Kala Brown on December 19th, 1981, they had one daughter, Amanda Jane.

Kirk later married Teresa Whitham on July 21st, 1994, and from that union, son, Kaleb Jason, was born.

Kirk was a supervisor for Coastal Mart for several years. He then took employment at Vetter Equipment as a shop foreman in Corydon, Iowa.

Kirk was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael Ray Hampton and Curt Morey, and his step-father Richard Morey.

He is survived by his parents, Frances Morey of Leon and Guy and Jeannine Hampton of Leon; daughter Amanda Hampton and fiance Mike Kelley and grandchildren Adriene and Gage Kelley, all of Davis City, Iowa; son Kaleb Hampton of Corydon; daughter Tiara Thomas and granddaughter Aleigha of Corydon; siblings, Sherry Smith of Albia, Iowa, Tammy & Bert Muir of Leon, Richard "Skip" & Sherry Morey of San Ramon, California, Melody & Kevin Hill of Wayne, Nebraska, and Shawn & Khara Morey of Osceola, Iowa; lifetime best friends, David Smith and wife Kathy of Leon and Keith Jones and wife Patty of Allerton, Iowa; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other friends.

[Interment was made at Leon Cemetery, Leon, Iowa.]
