Dr. Mary Adeline Gates passed away June 14, 1930 at Leon.
Dr. Mary Adeline Gates was a graduate of the Leon high school and the American School of Osteopathy at Kirksviille, Missouri. She practiced for twenty-two years in Leon. She was the daughter of Samuel Adolphus Gates and Lenna F. Alexander Gates, born Nov. 19, 1879
Dr. Mary Gates was a member of the First Presbyterian church in Leon and of the Westminster Circle. she was also a member of the P. E. O. society She will be missed by her father, and her sister Miss Grace, brother John.
She was intered in the Leon cemetery.
Note: Mary's birth mother was Samuel's first wife, Emma J. (Springer) Gates who died in 1891. Lenna, Mary's step-mother, married Samuel in 1894 when Mary was 15 years old.
