MISS LAVINE A. MCHARNESS was born November
l4, l859, at Gaines, Orleans
County, New York, and departed this life
November 29, l9l5, at Lamoni,
Decatur County, Iowa. At the age of two
years she moved with her
parents to Lawrence, Van Buren County,
Michigan, and in l876 removed
with her parents to Lamoni, where she has
since resided.

She was baptized into the Reorganized Church
of Latter Day Saints at
Hartford, Michigan. She lived a faithful
Christian life unto the end.
She leaves to mourn her departure, an aged
mother, three sisters and one
brother, namely; MRS. FRANCES DRAKE, of
Hartford, Michigan; MRS. MARY
WILLIAMS, at present at Lamoni, Iowa; EDWARD
MCHARNESS, of Leon, Iowa,
and MRS. ROSE WILEY, of Colony, Kansas, and
other relatives besides a
host of friends. She was laid to rest in the
Sweet Home Cemetery near
Lamoni and was buried beside her father and
two sisters, who preceded
her to the great beyond.

The funeral was conducted by John Smith, the
sermon by Elder Elbert
Smith and prayer by Elder Henry Stebbins.
