SMITH, CREVELING, STONE, JONES

MARY A. CREVELING, daughter of ROBERT and
NANCY CREVELING (copied as
written) was born in Tipton County, Indiana,
December l8,l846. Departed
this life, December lst, l9l5, aged 68 years,
ll months and l3 days.

She moved with her parents from Indiana to
Iowa in l856, where she has
resided ever since except eight years spent
in Kansas. On December
22nd, l870, she was united in marriage to
W.P. CREVELING, who survives
her. She leaves to mourn their loss besides
her husband, one brother,
W.H. SMITH, of Henry County, Iowa; two
sisters, SARAH S. JONES, and
MARGARET STONE, both of Decatur County, Iowa,
and a number of nieces and
nephews as well as a host of friends.

In her girlhood days she united with the M.E.
Church in which faith she
lived until September, l9l2, when she united
with the Brethren Church at
Crown Chapel.

Aunt MARY, as she was almost universally
called, was honest,
conscientious and energetic in all of her
undertakings, always jolly and
in good spirits. She will be missed in her
family, her church and her
neighborhood. The funeral was held Friday in
the Brethren Church at
Leon, conducted by J.F. Garber, an old friend
and neighbor. Music was
furnished with a quartett consisting of Sam
Garber, Robert Pearson,
Murray Kemp and Mrs. W.E. Kemp with Wilma
Garber at the piano.
Interment was made in the Leon Cemetery.
