Ida Brown Street, the daughter of Ara and Lizzie (McConnell) Brown, was born in Decatur County, Iowa March 13, 1882, and departed this life June 29, 1962, at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon, Iowa, being 80 years, 3 months, and 16 days, at the time of her death.

She attended school in Decatur County and moved to Wellington, Kansas with her family in 1900. She lived with her family and cared for both her father and mother as long as they lived. She worked in a dry goods store for 9 1/2 years, and then worked for Mrs. Celia Patterson from 1938 until 1942. She was married to Henry J. Street July 28, 1942 and they lived on a farm north of Grand River unil 1945 when they moved to town where they have sinced lived.

She was a member of the Methodist Church and of the Women's Society of Christian Service and was a faithful worker as long as her health permitted. She was also a member of the 4 G Club.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother and two brothers. Besides her devoted husband she is survived by four step-children, two sister-in-law (sic, sisters-in-law) and a number of nieces and nephews and nine great grandchildren.

Her kind and loving presence will be a great loss to all who knew her.

Funeral services in charge of the Slade Funeral Home where held Monday afternoon July 2 from the Grand River Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Richard T. Hohl. Interment was made in the Grand River Cemetery.
