Obituary of Margaret Ann Snook

Margaret Ann Greenland, daughter of Daniel and Mary Greenland, was born on January 5, 1850 near Batavia in Jefferson Co., Iowa.
She was married to David F. Snook on March 30, 1869 at Fairfield, Iowa. They moved at once to a farm north of Fairfield where they lived untilApril 20, 1872, the moving to Decatur Co. where she has since resided.

To this union ten children were born, seven daughters and three sons,three daughters and two son having preceded her in death. Her husband also preceeded her in death on April 16, 1920. Since his departure she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Alma Wookey, where she was lovingly cared for until God saw fit to call her home on Dec. 17, 1940 at the age of 90 years, 11 months and 19 days. She accepted Christ as her Saviour early in life. In Sept. 1924 she found her church home with the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

She leavs to mourn her departure four daughters: Mrs. Minnie Hayes of Eagle Butte, South Dakota; Mrs. Jennie Bright, Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Jessie Vanderpool, Oak Grove, Mo.; Mrs. Alma Wookey of Grand River; and one son, Forrest of Grand River. 11 grand children, 13 great grandchildren. She also leaves 3 brothers: Lieu Greenland of Grand River, Joel Greenland of Leon, Will Greenland of Texas and also a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church in Grand River on Friday, Dec. 20 at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev. E. C. Vanderpool of Oak Grove, Mo. Interment in Grand River Cemetery.
