Leon, Decatur County, IowaHARRIETT MEHLHAUS as born March 13, 1891 near Leon, Iowa, daughter of CHARLES and ELIZABETH (FULTON) BEAVERS.
HARRIETT attended Leon High School and after graduating, she taught school. She continued her education at Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls and later taught in Waterloo and Cedar Heights.
May 25, 1927, HARRIETTH married EDWARD JOHN MAHLHAUS in Cedar Heights and they farmed near Dysart, Iowa, until 1967, when they moved to town.
After EDWARD’S death Jan. 11, 1973, HARRIETT continued to make her home at 801 S. Main Street where she died Friday, Jan. 12, 1979, age 87.
She was preceded in death by husband and son CHARLES.
Survivors are daughter-in-law, MARILYN MEHLHAUS; two sisters, JOSEPHINE CAMPBELL and MARY HAYMAN, both of Platte, S. D.; two grandchildren.
[Interment was made at Dysart Cemetery, Dysart, Tama County, Iowa.]
