CHARLES HARLAN MCLAUGHLIN, son of WILLIAM H. and GEZINA (ROS) MCLAUGHLIN, was born Aug. 4, 1919 in Des Moines, Iowa, and died Nov. 5, 1978 in Leon, Iowa, age 59 years.

He was a graduate of Des Moines North High School and the University of Iowa with a degree in Business Administration .

On June 30, 1951 he was united in marriage to NORMA RIGGENBERG at Van Meter, Iowa. To this union were born two daughters and one son.

He had served in an administrative capacity for several medical facilities prior to moving to the Leon area three years ago; Iowa Methodist Hospital, Beaverdale Clinic, Internal Medical Clinic, International Medical Clinic, Wilden Osteopathic Hospital and Wilden Clinic, Dental Associates and the Decatur County Hospital.

CHARLES was active in many organizations: Leon Lions Club, Leon Golf and Country Club, PTSA, Leon Chamber of Congress and was also a member of the Iowa Board of Realtors. He was a member of Loving Chapel United Methodist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Surviving are his widow, NORMA; daughters, Mrs. DAVID (PAMELA) NAGEL, Urbandale, Iowa; Mrs. ROBERT (CHERYL) MANATT, Leon, Iowa; son LARRY MCLAUGHLIN, Marion, Iowa; three granddaughters, MARA and TIFANY NAGEL and JESSICA MANATT; five sisters, LUCILLE BURCHFIELD, DORIS WARREN and PHYLLIS MCLAUGHLIN, all of Des Moines; AUDREY HIBLER, Washington, Iowa; JEANNIE WICKLIFF of Iran; and brother DAVID MCLAUGHLIN, Council Bluffs; other relatives and friends.

[Interment was made at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Des Moines, Iowa.]
