DELIA BARLEAN MARVIN, daughter of J. S. and IVA HOBBSON DECKER, was born May 20, 1905 in Warren County, Iowa. She moved with her parents to Decatur County in 1921 where she lived at the time of her death, Oct. 21, 1983 at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon, Iowa.

DELIA was united in marriage to WALTER BARLEAN. Three children were born; MAURICE BARLEAN of Garden Grove, Iowa; LOIS VANN, Kerman, Ca.; and RAYMOND. Her husband, WALTER, and son, RAYMOND preceded her in death.

She was married to ALFRED MARVIN who also preceded her in death.

DELIA was a Past Noble Grand of the Rebekahs; a member of the V. F. W. Auxiliary; the Sunshine Club of which she was a charter member, and the Neighborly Neighbors Woman’s Club, and of the Leon Christian Church of which she was a faithful member until her death.

DELIA was a loving mother, friend and grandmother. She had a sense of humor that everyone will remember her by.

Others preceding her in death were her parents; 4 brothers; 3 sisters; and one grandson, RONALD.

Surviving are son, MAURICE; daughter, LOIS; son-in-law, WILLIE VANN; daughter-in-law GWEN BARLEAN; 4 grandsons; RICHARD, RODGER, and RANDY VANN and DANIEL BARLEAN; 5 granddaughters: LINDA, KAREN, SANDRA, LORI, and BRENDA; 3 step-sons: ALFRED, PAUL and RICHARD MARVIN; 16 great grandchildren; one sister, MINNIE GEHIHARR of North Platte, Ne.; and brother FOREST DECKER of Leon.

She will be missed by all of those who loved her.
