-30-

In writing “30” to one so dear, it is almost impossible to find words that convey our thoughts for the many kindnesses and tributes we have received for Dad. His unerring mannerism comes to life more and more when we read the kind expressions which you who know him well have expressed at this time.

Dad was a man who stood for goodness and graciousness, always withholding opinions until he knew all the facts. He was a man loyal to his profession and did an admirable job in reporting happiness and sorrow. He loved his home intently and often spoke of the many happy hours he had spent there.

I can remember many instances when I was writing an article for the paper that Dad would say, be sure every fact is true, and despite loss, criticism or setback, be loyal to your profession and keep your word.

I am proud that God privileged me to have so fine a father. It will be hard to give him up but even now his words of encouragement and strength will carry on. He loved life and was jolly to the end. It is my sincere hope that his traditions and memory will linger on with all who know him.

As he wrote this for his father we write it now for our Dad.

His, sons BILLY and GARY
