Evelyn Verlee Henrichs, daughter of Bernard "Bun" Smith and Ina (Richardson) Smith was born October 3, 1929 in Clarke County, Iowa and passed from this life Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Clarke County hospital in Osceola, Iowa at 84 years of age.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola with Dwayne Henrichs officiating. The family will greet friends from 6 pm to 8 pm Friday, February 14, 2014 at Kale Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Murray Cemetery, Murray, Iowa

She received her education in Clarke and Decatur County, graduating from LeRoy High School in 1948. She was united in marriage to Phillip Leroy Henrichs on May 29, 1948 in Osceola, Iowa and two sons, Paul, and David blessed this union.

Phillip and Verlee lived in Clarke County and on the same farm for 51 years. Due to Phillip's health they retired and moved to Osceola in November of 1999. They were married 62 years when Phillip passed away on August 16, 2010.

Verlee volunteered several years at the Headstart program. She was very involved in the Osceola Farmers market where she was manager for 16 years. She was a member of the Murray Church of Christ and a member of the neighborhood club "Smile awhile Club" since 1949. She enjoyed having her family around, playing cards, going to the casino, baking, fishing and gardening.

Those relatives who preceded Verlee in death were her parents; grandparents; and husband, Phillip Henrichs.

Verlee leaves to cherish her memory; sons Paul (Laura) Henrichs of Traer, IA, David (Lori) Henrichs of Lenox, IA; Three granddaughters Kara, Brooke, and Mallory all of Lenox, IA: sister, Shirley Jewell of Des Moines, IA, Bernadine (George) Zimmerman of Tucson, AR; brother, Lester (Mary Ann) Smith of Osceola; as well as other relatives and many friends.

Memorial contributions may be directed to her family for the Osceola Farmers Market.
