February, 1979Dennis William Grogan was born March 1, 1896 in Woodland Township, Decatur County, Iowa. He was the son of Stephen John Grogan and Johannah Daughton Grogan.
He died in the Clarke County Hospital Feb. 20, 1979 in Osceola, Iowa, age 82 years
Dennis served in the 82nd Division – Medical Corps, United States Army in 1918-19 in France and Germany.
In 1942, he was united in marriage to Gladys McLaw, who proceeded him in death in 1950.
In 1964, he was united in marriage to Katharine James, she survives him; also surviving are one brother, Michael J. Grogan and wife Berniece Grogan; two sisters, Marea Sheil, Omaha, Neb.; Margaret G. Ward, Osceola, Iowa; several nieces and nephews, other relatives.
Funeral was held from Webster-Kale Mortuary, Osceola, and Mass in St. Bernard’s Catholic Church at 10 am. Friday, Feb. 23. Burial in the Leon Catholic Cemetery, Leon, Iowa.
