JESSIE DOBSON GOODMAN, formerly of Leon, and for the past 28 years a resident of Des Moines, died at Riverview Manor in that city on May 20, 1970. Mrs. GOODMAN was born near Decatur City, Iowa, February 3, 1878, the older daughter of JOSPEH and ELIZABETH WARNER DOBSON. She attended schools near their family home in the Decatur and Davis City areas and was a graduate from the Schenert School of Music of Chicago.

In November, 1900, she was married to AARON GOODMAN of Leon. They established their home on the farm north of Leon where they reared their family and spend their lives until Mr. GOODMAN’s death in April, 1924, after which JESSIE moved to Des Moines. Two years ago she moved to Riverview Manor.

In Leon, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, transferring her membership to Plymouth Congregational Church in Des Moines. She was a member of the Magazine and Sorosia Social Clubs of Leon, and active in Farm Bureau, schools and other community projects.

One sister, NORA DOBSON, and her brothers, FRANK, LEWIS, ELBERT and CHARLEY, preceded her in death. She is survived by her three children: Mrs. ARTHUR CEDERSTROM (WILLAH), Des Moines; LOWELL GOODMAN, Minneapolis, Minn.; and Mrs. STEPHEN L. DARLING (DOROTHY), Iowa City; three grandchildren, DOROTHY DARLING PLESS, Evanston, Ill.; STEPHEN G. and BARBARA DARLING, Iowa City.
