October, 1995Pearle E. Gittinger, 7th child of William P. and Ora E. Frost Gittinger, was born April 18, 1905, north east of Leon, Iowa, and died Oct. 15, 1995, at Westview Acres in Leon, at the age of 90.
Pearle graduated from Leon High School and attended Maryville Teachers College in Maryville, MO. She was a member of the Leon Brethren Church, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Retired Teachers Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents: five sisters; Allice Gittinger, Ruth Gittinger, Florence Wassenaar, Grace McKee, and Marjorie Gittinger, and two brothers: Reese and Lloyd Gittinger.
She is survived by three nieces: Joellen Yeager, Jesup, Iowa, Shirley Thompson and husband George, Front Royal, VA, and Margene McKee, Jacksonville, FL; two nephews: Gordon Wassenaar, Prairie City, Iowa, and wife Aaa, Seattle, WA; and other relatives and friends.
[Interment was made at Leon Cemetery.]
