Leon, Decatur County, IowaOlive was the daughter of George and Mary E. Sinclair Brown. She was born at Haneoverton Ohio. She was the seventh child of a family of ten children. Two sisters and one brother proceeded her in death. She died June 16 1930 and her passing left behind her husband Joseph A. Caster, one son, George Brown Caster, two brothers, George D. Brown of Savanna, Ill. and Judge John J. Brown of Alliance, Ohio, four sisters, Mrs. D. H. Jackson and Mrs. Lida McCleary, both of Lisbon, Ohio, Mrs. Jessie Taylor of Sewickley, Pennsylvania, Mrs. U. G. Totten of Canton Ohio.
She came to Leon Iowa to visit her cousin, Dr. R. D. Gardner and taught there until her marriage Nov 3, 1887 to Joseph A. Caster.
She was active in the Christian Church, she was a charter member of W.P.E.O.and a charter member of the New Century Club and for a number of years an active member of the D.A.R. During the World War she was a tireless worker in the Red Cross.
She went to Florida to spend the winter with her son and while there her health began to fail. Her son took her to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minn. She then returned to Creston where she passed away.
Funeral services were conducted from the F. S. Stewart Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon by Rev. Humes W. McKee, interment being in the Leon Cemetery.
