DEATH NOTICE:

DAVIS, Dixie Lee, 66, Osceola, Iowa, died March 24, 2007 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services were held at Kale Funeral Home, Osceola, March 28, with Rev. Phil Coe officiating. Burial was in Gregg Cemetery, Clarke County, Iowa. [Dixie is listed in Leon Cemetery transcription.]

Obituary

Dixie Lee Davis, son of Stewart and Edith [Havard] Davis, was born January 20, 1941 in Osceola, Iowa. He passed from this life on March 24, 2007 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines at the age of 66 years.

Dixie graduated from Grand River High School. He was united in marriage to Linda Ann Fadeley on April 20, 1963 in Lakewood, Colorado and a son, Shane blessed this union. Linda and Dixie lived several years in Des Moines where Dixie owned D.L. Davis Mobile Home Service. They moved to Osceola in 1991 where he continued to operate his business.

Dixie enjoyed outdoors, he enjoyed hunting and fishing; he enjoyed refinishing antique furniture, doing woodworking, civil war history, traveling and he loved his Australian Shepherd Dogs.

Dixie was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lonnie.

He leaves to cherish his memory, wife Linda; son, Shane Davis and his wife Patricia of Osceola; sister, Annette Dibble and her husband Bob of Cheyenne, Wyoming; other relatives and a host of friends.
