John Roy Dale was the son of Albert and Lucinda Dale. He was born February 21, 1892 in Hamilton Twp and died at the home of his father-in-law L. D. Garber April 24, 1929. He graduated from Leon high school in the class of 1914. He married Miss Josephine Garber May 14, 1919. They have one son, Ellsworth age 8. He leaves to mourn his loss three brothers, and two sisters living, his father, one brother, and two sisters preceeded him. He was employed by the Leon post office for about five years.

Funeral services were conducted from the Brethren church, where he attended Sunday School and church services when he was able, by J. F. Garber. Interment being in the Leon cemetery.
