Nancy Sue Thompson, age 66 of Jerome, Iowa passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at the Schuyler County Nursing Home, Queen City, MO. following a battle with cancer.

Nancy Skipper was born March 8, 1947, in Elgin, Illinois to Joseph and Rosa (Harden) Skipper. Nancy attended local schools and was home schooled the last few years of her education. She accepted Christ at the age of 13, and was filled with the Holy Ghost at a revival in Confidence, Iowa in June of 1968. Following graduation, she worked in various nursing homes and took care of her elderly mother.

On June 5, 1976, she was united in marriage to Bill Gene Thompson at Lineville, Iowa. For past several years, she cleaned houses and worked for families in the Centerville area. Over the years, Nancy taught Sunday School at various Pentecostal churches, including Corydon Assembly of God, Glenwood Assembly of God, and Leon Full Gospel.

Nancy collected dolls. She like sewing and gardening. Nancy loved animals, especially cats, and her favorite color was red.

She was preceded in death by her father; her mother; and one sister, Jennie Lind McCullar.

She is survived by her husband Bill Thompson of Jerome, Iowa; two brothers, Rev. Billy (Sharon) Skipper of Mount Carroll, IL, and Jerry (Dixie) Skipper of Niotaze, KS; one brother-in-law, Ted Thompson of Overland Park, KS; and one sister-in-law, Portia Halferty of Des Moines, Iowa; four nephews, John McCullar, Edgar Joseph Skipper, Richard and Robert Halferty; and two nieces, Sherry Petit and Linda McKinney. Also surviving are thirteen great nephews; numerous great nieces; and other family and many friends.

Nancy will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm Friday, June 21, 2013 at the Lange Funeral Home & Crematory, Centerville, Iowa. Visitation will be held Thursday evening 6-8 pm from Lange Funeral Home & Crematory, Centerville. Burial will be in the Garden Grove Cemetery, Garden Grove, Iowa. A memorial has been established.
