Harry A. Umphress was born Oct. 26, 1879 near Leon and died at the home of his mother in Leroy Dec 5, 1906, aged 27 years 1 month and 6 days. His father died Jan 14, 1896. The mother, one sister, and five brothers survive him, all being present during his last hours except the sister who was sick at her home in Leon. Short funeral services were held at the home and his remains laid to rest in the Garden Grove cemetery Dec. 6th.
