Lois O. Pickering, daughter of Lewis D. and Lenna Mae Richard, was born Oct. 29, 1896 in Corydon, Iowa, and died Feb. 3, 1979 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, age 82.

She attended public school in Corydon. She was a member of the Corydon Methodist Church.

On April 12, 1916, she was united in marriage to Ralph M. Pickering at the residence which was their home in Leon many years. To this union one son, Richard, was born.

Lois met many people and acquired new friends when Ralph was employed in Bloomfield, Ind.; Des Moines, Newton and Burlington, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by husband Ralph, Jan. 26, 1979; parents; four sisters, Gladys Richard, Willa Logan, Fannie Gookin and Edith (who died in infancy).

Survivors are Richard and wife Betty; two grandchildren, Barbara and Christopher, all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; other relatives and friends.
