Obituary ~ William "Wayne" Parsons
November 11, 1916 ~ April 15, 1998

William Wayne Parsons, son of Lyman Fleming and Louise Merle (Evans) Parsons, was born on November 11, 1916, south of High Point in Decatur County Iowa. he died at his home in Allerton, Iowa, on April 15, 1998 at the age of 81 years.

Wayne attended Spunky Ridge Country School and then graduated from LeRoy High School. He started farming in Decatur County south of High Point soon after.

On December 18, 1937 he was united in marriage to Audrey Irene Boor. This union was blessed with one daughter, Rebecca Annabelle..

Through the years Wayne was employed by the ASCS Office, Lamoni Sale Barn, Grand River Mutual Telephone Company and he maintained farm work.

Wayne helped and enjoyed the Decatur County Songfest during the 1940's until the 1980's. He was an active member of the High Point United Methodist Church at High Point.

After Irene's death in 1983, Wayne married Patricia Louise Brown in 1984 and resided in Allerton.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife Irene; sister Donnabell Boggs and her husband Floyd; and brother Nelson Lorrain Parsons and his wife Margaret.

Survivors include his wife Pat Parsons of Allerton, Iowa; daughter Rebecca Adair and her husband Lonnie of Geneva, Nebraska; two grandchildren, Kimberly Sybayne Adair and Amber Ann Adair (Morrow), great-grandchildren Ashleigh and Logan Adair and James R Morrow II; Pat's children, Todd Sapp and wife Becky of Alexandria, South Dakota and Tonya Thatcher and husband John of Dexter, Iowa and their children Levi and Logan Sapp and Nathaniel Thatcher; nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

[Interment was made at Garden Grove Cemetery.]
