Thursday, May 18, 1911Elma Pearl Pollard Manchester, the daughter of Abraham and Harriett Pollard, was born in Jones County, Iowa on August 11, 1890 and died May 6, 1911 at the age of 20 years, 7 months and 27 days.
Leaving her husband, infant daughter, father, mother, one brother and sister to mourn her loss. Pearl was married to Silas Newman Manchester on January 20, 1909. To this union one daughter was born and was only a few days old when her mother departed this life.
Pearl united with the Church of Christ in Weldon, Iowa at the age of 14 under the Pastorate of C.J. Organ. She remained a consistent faithful member until her recent death.
The funeral services were held in the M. E. Church at Weldon. In the presence of a large and sympathizing audience, the service was conducted Rev. George F. Mitchell and Rev. James Webber. Interment was in the Garden Grove Cemetery.
NOTE: Elma's infant daughter, Virginia Pearl, died at the age of 18 days and was interred beside her mother.
