April 12, 1953Mrs. Ollie Knapp, 71, died at 6:20 p.m. Friday at the Woodlawn Convalescent Home of complications of an extended illness.
She was born on April 20, 1881, at Garden Grove, Ia., the daughter of Mandrew and Lavica Holland. She had resided in that community until moving to Waterloo in 1918.
On Thanksgiving day, 1905, she was married to Vance C. Knapp.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. John F. McCoy of Davenport, and two sons, Carl E., 512 Pine St., and Donald H., 308 Lester St.; five grandchildren: two sisters, Mrs. Maude Buchanan, Huron, S.D., and Mrs. Lydia Parsons, Leon, Ia.
She was a member of the Auxiliary of the Sons of Union Veterans and of the Plymouth Congregational church before that church was discontinued here.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one daughter. Until 1951 she had resided with the daughter in Davenport. Since then she has resided in various nursing homes.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at the Locke Funeral home by Rev. Charles E. Luce, associate pastor of Grace Methodist church. Interment will be at Garden Grove Cemetery, Garden Grove, Iowa.
