Obituary ~ Roy Lester Evans
January 14, 1905 ~ March 09, 1985

ROY LESTER EVANS, son of ELIJAH JASPER and BERTHA ESTELLA (LITTLE) EVANS, was born Jan. 14, 1905 in Eden Township, Decatur County, Iowa, and died Saturday, March 9, 1985, in Leon, Iowa, age 80 years, 1 month and 23 days. He spent his entire life farming near Leon.

ROY was united in marriage to LULU FAY SMITH on Feb. 9. 1929. To this union four children were born.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; four sisters; and one brother.

Surviving him are his four children: EARL and wife, FAYE, Norwalk, Iowa; BILL and wife, LOUISE, Leon; DON and wife, SUSAN, Norwalk: and VELDA NOBLE and husband, GARY, Lamoni, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 3 sisters: MAE OLSEN of Villisca, Iowa; ETHEL BOYD of Leon; and HATTIE SMITH, Yakima, Wa.; other relatives and friends.
