Obituary ~ Ava "Pearl" (Blakesly) Craig
July 11, 1895 ~ March 12, 1983

AVA PEARL CRAIG died at the Clarke County Hospital, Osceola, Iowa March 12, 1983, age 87 years, 9 months and one day.

AVA PEARL was born July 11, 1895 to GEORGE and ORPHA POOLE BLAKESLEY in Eden Township of Decatur County, Iowa. She lived and attended school there until her marriage to LENNIE CRAIG July 16, 1913 in Leon. To this union were born two daughters, LOIS and MARGARET.

PEARL became a member of the New Salem Baptist Church at an early age and remained a member.

She was preceded in death by her husband, LENNIE, in 1943; parents; 4 brothers: IRA LESTER, FREDDIE, WALTER, and ROY; 2 sisters: RUBY CRAIG and MERLE POTTER.

She leaves her two daughters LOIS MORGAN and husband, JOHN, Weldon, Iowa; MARGARET HULLINGER and husband, GERALD, North Bend, Wa.; 6 grandchildren: JOYCE MORGAN COCHRANE and husband, MICKEY, Des Moines; CRAIG MORGAN of Weldon; GERRI HULLINGER WOOD and husband, BRIAN, Boonville, Ca.; RICKY HULLINGER and wife, NITA, North Bend, Wa.; KATHI HULLINGER KIRSCHNER and husband, MIKE, North Bend; and SHELI HULLINGER, Chicago, Il.; 8 great grandchildren: CINDY COCHRANE; HEATHER, AMY and JESSICA HULLINGER; and SHEA, BILLY, DANIEL and DEREK KIRSCHNER; sister, MYRA SPENCER of Leon; 2 sisters-in-law; MERLE BLAKESLEY, Leon and JESSIE CRAIG, Seymour, Iowa; nieces, nephews, and friends.
