December 04, 1900 ~ February 11, 1978GERTRUDE ALICE daughter of ALBERT E. and HELEN IRONSIDE COTTERILL, was born near Leon, Iowa, Dec. 4, 1900 and died Feb. 11, 1978 in the Decatur County Hospital, age 77 years, 2 months and 7 days.
After the death of her mother in 1944, she and her father moved from the farm to Leon. She made her home in Leon with the exception of periods of employment in California and Des Moines.
A year ago she was stricken with a malignancy.
ALICE was a member of the Presbyterian Church; Federated Garden Club; Buttoneers and Priscilla Clubs; and various senior citizens groups.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors are brother GEORGE H. and MARGIE, Leon; niece GLADA MANCHESTER and husband WILLIAM J. and their children, SHARON, GAYLEEN and GLEN and his wife LANA, all of Davis City; nephew, ALBERT C COTTERILL and wife NANCY and their children, MARGIE SUE and CURTIS, all of Leon; cousin, ELLEANOR IRONSIDE SPALDING, Leon; several cousins in South Dakota, Canada and England; and friends.
