DURBIN BLISS COONTZ, son of ANTHONY and CYNTHIA COONTZ, was born June 10, 1886, and departed this life at the Decatur county hospital July 6, 1948, at the age of 62 years and 26 days. He was united in marriage to LENA TRISLER, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. A. TRISLER on December 14, 1910, and to this union were born seven children.
He leaves to mourn his departure, his devoted wife and five children: KENNETH COONTZ, of Garden Grove, Iowa; CLAYTON COONTZ, of Burlington, Iowa; Mrs. LELAND MORRIS, of Gladstone, Illinois; Mrs. ROBERT HOOK, of Humeston and WILLARD COONTZ, of Garden Grove; sixteen grandchildren, eight brothers, and two sisters.
A daughter, CYNTHIA, who died in infancy and a son BOYD, who was killed in service and a brother who all preceded him in death.
[Interment was made at Garden Grove Cemetery, Garden Grove, Iowa.]
